On November 29, 2023, Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar concluded a two-day visit to Kuwait, accompanied by Chief of Army Staff Gen Syed Asim Munir. The leaders convened with top Kuwaiti officials, emphasizing the historical brotherly ties between the two nations. They expressed a commitment to fortify these ties by fostering a mutually beneficial economic partnership.
The leaders presided over the signing of seven agreements, aiming to attract substantial investment from Kuwait into various sectors of Pakistan, including food security/agriculture, hydel power, water supplies, establishment of a mining fund, technology zones development, and mangrove preservation.
Additionally, three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were inked in the fields of culture and art, environment, and sustainable development. The leaders conveyed contentment with the positive trajectory of relations and pledged to intensify cooperation further.
Prime Minister Kakar hailed the agreements with Kuwait as significant milestones facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) platform. He extended prayers for the good health of Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait.
